4Good watch for the tween set  Sep 20, 2008 By saskam98 "Sara"
I bought this watch for my 10 year old. She's girly but isn't into hearts and flowers and most of the girls' watches don't appeal to her for this reason. So when we came across this one it fit the bill pretty well. Pink, but not obnoxiously so, and since there's not a lot of embellishments it's not too juvenile.

She likes the extra features of the timer and stopwatch. It makes her feel more grown up I think. We're also trying to get her used to waking to an alarm, so that feature is great for us as well. Every watch I've bought her has been a Timex Indiglo. They're pretty durable and the Indiglo feature is cool for parents and kids alike. Plus the price is usually pretty decent.

Great watch for the money, but I was surprised at Amazon's price. Even with free shipping from Amazon, it was cheaper for me to buy this watch, and pay shipping costs, from an independent seller. I'd prefer to buy from Amazon until it comes down to saving money.

3Strap is a major problem  Aug 16, 2011 By Picturesque Music
Functionally this watch is great, a young girl (say, 7) can understand its functions and the timer and alarm all work fine. The reason this is getting 3 stars (and that's being kind) is that the strap when done up around that same girl has its end sticking up. This is because her wrist is small (even though above average dimensions for age)and so only half of the velcro attaches, with the rest stuck up at the top. There is also a huge TIMEX logo in the way of where more velcro could go. As a result the strap comes easily undone.

This is frustrating because it's such a stupid oversight on Timex's part. If not for that logo in the way they could have had more velcro and then no problem. I have had the same girl try an adult female timex with a rubber strap and lots of holes and it actually fits just fine, so that's the one this will be replaced with.

Timex, fix the strap and actually allow young KIDS to wear it and then you get five stars.

2Disappointed being it's made for a child  Dec 05, 2007 By Michele
My daughter loved this watch, however, it is not made to withstand any sort of accidents. She had it only a month and accidental dropped in on the kitchen floor, it's linoleum... not hardwood or tile and the watch went haywire, started running random numbers and the function buttons will not work at all. Basically it's toast. Appears it is not the battery since the display still shows up. Being a kid's watch, you would think Timex would make it more durable than this! I bought it due to the Timex name in hopes it would be made to last longer than a few weeks.

My son has a fossil watch and he smashed it up when he feel off his bike onto the concrete. It's scatched up a bit but still works perfectly.

3Good, but terrible strap means I recommend against  Sep 14, 2011 By Picturesque Music
As a huge fan of Timex digital watches--they aren't that expensive and have great interfaces with useful features (I've had several Ironmans and am wearing one now)--I was surprised and disappointed with one glaring omission in this watch: The watch is aimed at kids, specifically girls. We all know they don't have the largest wrists. This is why I was surprised to find that on the girl this was given to she had to wrap the watch tight enough that the very end of the strap (which has velcro to its tip) ended up hovering over the "Timex" badge (you can see in the sticker). What this means is that the tip of the strap is hanging free, unvelcroed, unless the wearer's wrist is relatively large. It ends up getting hooked and kind of flailing about.

I would recommend against this watch until the strap is redesigned to cater to younger users who are still in its actual demographic. I'm surprised none of the reviewers had the same problem, but perhaps this would be rectified for teenagers.

I can say that the other two Timex women's watches I've looked at recently with typical rubber straps fit the very same girl who had problems with this one without any issue. Therefore, I'd recommend a Timex woman's watch with the holes in the strap. They'll work fine and the very tip can be cut off if necessary (as it could be on this watch but then there's even less velcro to keep it snug).

4Great watch. Easy to use.  Sep 02, 2008 By Judith A. Long
My daughter absolutely loves this watch. We've had it more than a month now & it lives up to the Timex slogan, "It takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin."
