3Tall kids beware...  Jul 13, 2008 By K. Williams
I think this product is really great. It's comfortable to wear, stays put in the right position on the body, and it is very easy to remove flotation as your child becomes a more confidant swimmer. My only issue with the Power Swimr is the crotch strap. My son is well within the weight range specified, but at 48" tall, the strap is just too short. So short that when extended to it's full length the Power Swimr was around his belly instead of higher up on his chest where it should be. I contacted Swimways Customer Service and was informed that extensions are not available. My child is confidant enough in the water that I just removed the strap all together. It still stays put and I am happy with it's performance otherwise.

5Great Product  Dec 02, 2002 By a mom anon
I've taught 4 kids to swim with the assistance of the Swim Trainer. Progressively remove one or two of the inserts and kids don't even realize they are taking more responsibility for staying afloat! It's not a flotation device, it's an aid to learning to swim. I keep one on hand even though my kids swim like fish now. (We have a pool, so I keep one for visitors.) I've recommended it to many of my friends.

5Works very well, when you understand what it is for!!!!  Jun 28, 2002
I have 3 kids. My ten year old and eight year old have both learned to swim using the swim trainer. If you read the package, you realize it's not meant to keep your child floating upright in the water. It is not a floatation toy. It is meant to give your child the confidence to try to swim while gradually working them into the proper position! My 4 year old started using swimway trainers last year with all the floatation pads in place. This year, we removed a couple of the pads and she swimming like a pro! Be sure when you buy a something, read the package so you know what it's meant for (yes, I'm responding to the negative review written by the other lady).

5Kids don't mind wearing it!  Jun 22, 2011 By A. Spencer
I purchased this because my kids are learning to swim but not quiet ready for freedom without a life jacket just yet. This works great for kids who do have a little knowledge of swimming and need more freedom in the pool. I took out a few of the pads and the kids are doing great! They can still turn flips and play around but come back up pretty quickly since this does keep them afloat pretty well. It works great when they are in water over their head and it helps me not to worry as much. The sizes do run small. My daughter is not quite 55 lbs. but I bought her the larger size (55 lbs. plus) and she won't have a lot of room to grow in it that is for sure. My best advice is get a size bigger than you think they need because you can make it tighter with the straps on the side.

5The best trainer in the market  Jul 02, 2002 By P. Pun "mypicks"
My son tried the tire thing before and can't really move his arm to swim. The Super Swimr works perfectly as described. I will recommend it to all beginners. They should make one for older children and adults who can't swim.
