3Cool but false advert  Oct 07, 2011 By Brian Dowrick
First, I want to say, it Flies, and flies well. I got it up in the air on a low wind day, and it looks cool in the air.
But... This is the big problem I have with this, is it is NOT 72 Inches long. Not at all. Look at that picture they post. It's JUST the ship. I'm picturing in my head a ship bigger then me. I'm 69 inches tall. It's not even close, not by height or length. The ship itself, is only about 1/2 a meter. Sitting on the ground, the top of the sail comes to about my knee. Where they get the 72 inch part is there is a TAIL. A spinning corkscrew of a tail the hangs off the back end, that doubles the length of the whole thing.
False advertising, but a beautiful looking SMALL pirate ship, that gets lots of heads to turn.
I'm not sending it back.
Just know what you are getting.
Happy flying.

5Wonderful Kite  Aug 01, 2011 By Billy Jacup
I have owned this kite for about 4 years now, my son (9 now) and I have been flying this kite when we go on our yearly beach vacation. Previous comment is correct it does take a good amount of wind to fly correctly but when it is flying well it is a great site to see always draws a crowd and great comments like "Cool Kite" or "where did you get that I would like one". It is a must to keep the tube that it came in order to move it around there are a few strings, plastic gizmos and the sails that attach to the body of the ship. All in all after a few years of flight it is beginning to show some wear but I hope to get another year or two out of it. All in all it was a great purchase for my young son on our first trip to the beach.

5Unique and attractive 3D kite.  Apr 16, 2012 By Ernesto Chavez
This kite is very unique.
It needs at least 7 mph constant winds to get it going.
I waited for a nice slightly windy day to test it out.
Winds were around 10 mph.
Building the kite was a little different than most.
I suggest having an adult help out if a child is too young.
The instructions are clearly printed on the plastic protector. Keep this plastic to pack your kite again.
Comes in very handy.
It took me about 15 minutes to have it ready. It'll be much faster after the first time.
Passers by asked what it was. Most had no idea it was a kite.
"Does it really fly they asked?"

Ok, well, now for the flying. Does is fly you ask?
As soon as the kite was built, it demanded to be flown. The wind was already picking up.
Spot was chosen, the kite was held in the air and without any problem floated without any line.
Gave it line and it had no problem going up. The tail swirled like crazy and looked very nice.
Nearby cars that were passing stopped for a few seconds to see the kite.
It looked very nice floating in the air. It definetly turned a lot of heads.
We had really nice time seeing it fly and I recommend this unique kite to anyone interested in kiting.
Kids loved seeing this thing fly. They couldn't turn their heads away from it.

TIPS
Be sure wind is at least 7 mph or more and you should be ok.
Carefully unpack and pack the kite when finished with the original packaging.

ENJOY THIS KITE! =)

4Impressive, but some drawbacks  Apr 09, 2012 By DL "D.L."
So, once assembled, this thing just looks impressive. It isn't huge, but its big enough and just looks awesome. Getting it flying wasn't too hard with a decent breeze, but it did take a few crashes when the wind slowed and also it wasn't very agile. Flat kites seem to get a lot more height than this one and it is hard to make it move side to side - but it was easier to get airborne than I had expected based on its size and weight and also the sheer impression of its intricacy and size could get anyone pumped up to go fly a kite. My little nephew was excited to see this fly and had mastered his "aargh!" pirate voice by the time we made it down the street to the park. Comes in a handy plastic sleeve that made it easy to pack and unpack and store and it also had the instructions printed right on the sleeve. Very thoughtful for people or parents who have a tough time keeping parts together for toys.
Pros: Fun, high "cool" factor, moderately easy to assemble and fly, easy storage. Cons: not too agile, kind of heavy so need decent wind, doesn't fly as high as others.

2Unique kite!  Apr 09, 2012 By Momma of a disappointed little boy
We took this kite to the beach and it was a huge hit with everyone. It was very unique. The first time my son had it up in the sky it was great. He took it out again the next day and the tail flew off. You can see where it just ripped right off. We search for the tail but was unable to locate it. Also, when the tail flew off, the kite crashed landed ripping the one side of the ship to where we are unable to use it again.
