5a perfect 10!  Oct 07, 2011 By BadBoyWill
Taste wise this is an absolute 10. Its amazingly delicious! I drink this with skim milk after 11pm before i hit the bed so its a great amount of protein before bed with the extra 7g of protein from the skim milk. i wake up everyday at 6:30am and i'm not starving like i used to be before. I still eat but i'm not hungry. over all a perfect 10!

4a worthy product  Jun 03, 2011 By R. Nelson
This particular brand of casein doesn't mix the easiest of them all, but enough shakes with a shaker bottle or stirs with a fork will get the job done.

This has slightly more (1g) of fat per serving than some other brands. Normally I don't appreciate it when fat is deliberately added to a protein powder, however the fact that Cytosport used medium-chain triglycerides (instead of some garbage like hydrogenated soybean oil as Optimum Nutrition does), indicates that Cytosport put some thought into their product, didn't just want to put another protein powder on the market, and it's the reason why I didn't disqualify their product.

The following are my opinions on the flavors I've tried in straight water.

Cookies n' Cream: good and the ingredients list is even clean.
Banana: good but not as good as cookies n' cream.
Vanilla: good but milder in flavor than cookies n' cream or banana.
Strawberry: not their finest work.
Chocolate: forgettable so it's not bad but not amazing.

For anyone complaining about the thickness of the powder, it's a property of casein powder. If you want thin, then get a whey isolate, or here's another idea: use less powder.

Even with free super saver shipping, Lasership gets this to my door in 2-3 days.

Amazon's subscribe-and-save price makes this an easy choice.

5Perfect protein  Mar 14, 2011 By Sajji Baba
This is a casein protein and it's main purpose is to be used as a slow-digesting protein source. I like to take it in the morning before heading out to work, as it keeps me fuller longer. I also take it before bed as it only has 2 grams of carbs with 25 grams of protein. And because it's slow digesting, it delivers a nice satisfying feeling. I can't sleep on an empty stomach!

It mixes well, but you should use a shaker and don't expect to mix it with a spoon or fork. If you try to do that in a glass, it will definitely clump up - and that's not fun. I take a 20 oz shaker bottle and add about 16-18 oz of water and one scoop (and it's a pretty big scoop) and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds and it makes a perfect shake without any clumps. I've even tried it in a blender and it still clumps up - may be a sign to get a new blender - but that's why I love the shaker bottle.

2This Flavor Clumps!  May 07, 2012 By Lancealoth
For some reason this flavor "strawberry creme" clumps. It was like styrofoam particles in my drink. I have a mixer (perforated grid) in my shaker. It mixes other shakes well. At first I thought it was natural for casein but when I tried it for chocolate and "cookies n creme" it did not have the small clumps. And I have tasted better strawberry flavors - but they were Whey protein instead. Also, it was not a bad batch, I order it a second time and it still clumped.

Bottom line, I needed the Casein, the brand and price was good. Just don't get this flavor. I recommend the "cookies n creme" flavor.

2Nothing worth buying.  Apr 13, 2012 By southvaboy
I ordered the Banana Creme casein since I had seen some good reviews for it. What a mistake. This stuff tastes awful, kinda like a licorice gone bad in my opinion. It tastes nothing like banana and I don't recommend it. I contacted Cytosport and they offered to replace it with another product so I have nothing against Cytosport, just their casein.
