I was introduced to this product after having emergency surgery on my GI tract and I lost a substantial amount of weight. I needed that weight to heal my body and make sure that my incision line would close up properly, which it did not. So, what to do? I had no appetite, but knew I needed protein at the very least. I didn't think I was going to like it at all. I only tried it to humor my friend and ended up enjoying it. I still drink a glass of it every day (I always buy chocolate, but I can vary the flavor by adding strawberry flavoring meant for milk. At first I thought it would be expensive, but 5 lb can go a long, long way. It is certainly the cheapest way I can get protein--far better than protein bars I was buying off the shelf when they were on sale. My mom is in remission from a nasty form of cancer. She lost a ton of weight, too. (Neither of us had much extra weight to begin with.) Now she is drinking this and liking it. This is the first positive step she has made, nutrtion-wise, since she started her chemotherapy almost a year ago. Her doctor knows she is now drinking it, and he is getting ready to start recommending the 100% whey powder to other people who can't afford to lose weight while in treatment. She had to laugh, because the product is for people who are active and trying to build muscle, and that's exactly what she really is trying to do, same as I am. Mom is now gaining weight and I am back at my normal weight, still drinking my whey protein.

I started using this EAS Chocolate when I started at the gym many years ago, my sister told me about it because of the good reviews of the protein lasting over a few hours as it's digested. I would have a shake before and after workout. I have only used 1 scoop of power (as is called for) per 8oz liquid and used my blender. While working out I would use milk as the liquid and it was very good tasting (to me).
Now that I need to lose a few pounds, I'm mixing it 3/4 cold water and 1/4 whole milk and using a "blender-bottle" and it mixed instantly and no clumps at all. At a little over 200 calories for a meal replacement (because of the milk) it is perfect for me. It is thick, rich and satisfying. I make 2 shakes a day and eat a healthy dinner with an occasional small snack if hungry and the weight is coming off. *I've always bought mine at Costco over the years.

I've tried Slim-Fast and Carnation Breakfast sugar/free, both in chocolate, and those are good flavor as well. This is along the same flavor line as those, as a reference for you.

I have tried a few different proteins for after-workout supplements. I like the product that EAS puts out and the value in this item is very good. They have a large amount of protein per serving than most and it even tastes good, mixed with water or milk. Good value and a good product make for a good deal.

I've purchased this exact product and i've used all of it. It works really well and the price for product ratio is good. The scoops are huge and it is really really really hard to mix. Also, the taste is awful. The only time i got it to taste good was when i put it in a blender with half a banana and peanut butter and blended it with milk. there are better products than this.
